Hello to one and all, here is a little bit about me and my vision for this blog:

Beyond Bizarre was a TV I recalled watching in my preteen/teen days. I grew up watching a lot of scary TV shows and movies growing up so I was naturally attracted to this show somehow. Maybe it was channel surfing but regardless, this was a staple of my childhood. I slowly started rolling out episode recaps on my Horror TV blog for this show in particular. I will also be slowly moving the little info I have on there unto this blog.

This show aired on the Discovery Channel but I mainly watched it for the host, Jay Robinson. I just thought he was just so iconic. He totally was the reason why I kept tuning in, even in reruns. I am pretty sure as I grew up going into high school and starting my own family (lol) but I honestly forgot about this show's existence for years at a time. The little times when I actually did remember about this show, I could never seem to find more than a few measly clips on YouTube, if any. Then, I would revert back to forgetting.

2023 must be my year because that's when I just went hard AF about wanting to track down these episodes some how, some way. Because I've always been taught that not only is nothing ever truly gone from the internet but you can indeed find EVERYTHING on the internet.

I realized quite quickly that is indeed not true.

Lost media still very much a thing, even in today's day and age. I was able to find more than a few clips on Youtube, DailyMotion and Vimeo eventually. Internet Archive was a HUGE help because a simple search away from the 7 existing episodes. I know for a fact there was more so here I am.

Despite me finding a few additional clips and even a long lost documentary special (to me, at least) I feel like there is just so much more I could do but I am just one person and limited to my resources. So, here I am, hoping to keep the spirit of this show alive.

I'll probably update this section anyway, this is just a rough draft I wanted to get out.

Where to Watch

These episodes recently got uploaded to Internet Archive a little under a year ago. Here are the links! Always best to download them for yourself just in case these links for go for some reason. A YouTube channel used to have a playlist but said channel got terminated 😭 I backed mine up already. Episode 1  "Bodies Dead and Alive" Episode 2  "Vampires and Other Pets" Episode 3  "Snakes, Mummies and Rocks That Move" Episode 4  "Goths and Zombies" Episode 5  "Museum of Death" Episode 6  "Vortexes and Voodoo" Episode 7  "UFOs and Alien Implants" Episodes 8-14 are currently missing. I did find various clips. For example the  Shrunken Heads  segment (from my other blog). This will be temporary. I will make this into a separate future post and remove this eventually. Oh and I know the photo edit is crap. Just a placeholder.

Segment: Snake Handlers

Welcome to my very first write up for my Beyond Bizarre blog. Let's start at the 'ol genesis: snake handlers. This is the 1st segment of the 1st episode of Beyond Bizarre. If you are new here (I am too!) greetings. My plan for this blog is to keep the coolness of this show alive, albeit this show may be outdated as hell but it is for sure a lost gem I rarely see anyone talk about. Footage is pretty scarce as well. I plan to post transcripts, tv clips (when available) and other anecdotes for what was featured on the show. Thus, being my first post of this. I am uneducated on a lot of things including my writing skills and knowledge of subjects featured but I promise to try the best of my ability to do it justice.
